Recently, Michelle Williams ‘proudly’ revealed she sought treatment for her mental health on Instagram.

We are so proud of our sis – she’s a survivor – for being Upspoken about battling with depression and not afraid to seek help. After confronting her struggles publicly, she’s received an outpouring of love and support from her fans, friends, and family on social media.

Tina Knowles Lawson, mother of Beyoncé, commented: “Sending you much love and encouragement. Yes to your strength and bravery.”

Chad Johnson, Michelle’s fiancé, also wrote: “I’m so proud of your courage and commitment on this! WE are in it together and on an AMAZING journey of watching THE master artist paint a priceless work of art!”

Missy Elliott went on Twitter and shared her support for Michelle as well:

Michelle reminded us all that self-care isn’t selfish – it’s as empowering as it can be. As Black women, we have so much on our shoulders to carry. It’s easy to undermine your negative thoughts and brush them off as an overreaction. But the well-being of your mind should always come first. We have to make time to acknowledge our feelings and be gentle with ourselves. Remember sis – if you’re struggling, seek help and take good care of your happiness, because you’re a queen 👸🏿
